Shinji Ikari

Brought to NERV by his father, he has a hard time fitting in. But when he finds that his father doesn't really need him, he's all ready to head for home. A small incedent with Rei (ceiling caving in... ehem) convinces him that he musn't run away (musn't run away... musn't run away...). He lives with Misato Katsuragi and Pen-Pen, although more than a bit reluctantly.

Rei Ayanami

A fourteen-year-old girl that pilots the Eva unit 0. She is the first other pilot Shinji meets. A quiet girl, she is injured at the beginning of the series due to an accident in training. She seems to care for Shinji's father a great deal, and has a bit of a watchful eye on Shinji...

Asuka Langely

Half-German, half-Japanese, she is a force to be reckoned with. Her red hair proclaims more than her attitude, it tells you her lifestyle. She takes what she wants and goes for whatever goal she sees fit. It's a good thing that she is descended from two fierce bloodlines, or she'd be a bit out of place in NERV.
